About · Wholesome Uganda

Built to share Uganda differently.

We are a Kampala-based team of guides, makers, and storytellers sharing Uganda three ways — the journeys you take, the art you bring home, and the stories we tell. Every project is run by someone on this page.

Our story

One Uganda, three ways to feel it.

Ubuntu Footprints exists for a simple reason: a country this rich deserves to be truly met, not just shown. So much travel moves fast, follows a script, and skims the surface. We were made as the opposite — a way to experience Uganda up close, slowly, and in good company. We stay small on purpose, working hand in hand with the communities and makers we represent, choosing care over volume.

It all comes together as one country, told three ways. There's the travel — curated journeys that go beyond sightseeing into culture, community, and the quiet corners most visitors never reach. There's the art — original pieces from Uganda's carvers, potters, and weavers, heritage you can hold and bring home. And there's the storytelling — brand and cultural narrative that helps ideas connect, told with authenticity and warmth.

Rooted in Kampala and run by a small team of guides, makers, and storytellers, we're here to share the spirit of home — the heritage, the creativity, and the genuine human connection people remember long after the trip ends. Whether you come as a traveller, a collector, or a partner, the invitation is the same: experience Uganda up close.

How we work

Three rules.

01

People, not a script

The person guiding your trip knows the roads, the makers, and the quiet corners most visitors never reach. They are not following a script — they are reading the weather, the work, and your energy.

02

Community terms

Every community visit on our trips is designed with the community, not around them. We pay fairly, we limit group size, and we don't show up unannounced.

03

We try to tread lightly

We cut down where we can — reusable bottles and containers over single-use, less packaging on the road, and whatever waste we do create, we carry out and dispose of properly rather than leaving it behind. We're not perfect on it. We just try, every trip.
